Alexandra Wiebe

Soprano Alexandra Wiebe begins the season by returning to the Wagner in Vermont Festival as a Blumenmädchen in Parsifal. In the fall, she makes her company debut with St. Petersburg Opera, performing as Mrs. Gobineau in Menotti’s The Medium and Antonia in Mark Sforzini’s conceived Voices from the Other Side. She then makes several company, role and international debuts, covering Cathy in Carlisle Floyd’s Wuthering Heights with The Little Opera Theatre of NY, singing Annina in La traviata with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, and joining the Irish National Opera to debut several newly commissioned operatic arias and scenes.

Alexandra particularly specializes in the performance of new and rare works, and has had the great pleasure of performing in several premieres, as well as numerous 21st century masterpieces. She looks forward to adding more contemporary roles to her repertoire in the upcoming season, and is always eager to collaborate on new projects.
